I hope you've been enjoying the early summer weather, and use it to your advantage by increasing healthy outdoor activities. For me, these include more miles on my bike, more walking and more grilling. Grilling is a great way to prepare healthy proteins and veggies.
Speaking of healthy outdoor activities, Laurie and I are heading to Zion National Park for some much needed R&R.
I will be out of the Office Friday, May 24th through Monday, May 27th (Memorial Day), and return Tuesday, May 28th, all day.
A reminder that I now have Thursday morning hours, so I will be in the office Thursday morning, May 23rd, before we leave. If you need care on Friday, May 24th, please see Dr. Mark, he will take great care of you.
Omega 3-6-9: Our Product of the Month + Special Discount!
Fish Oils rich in EPA and DHA are one of the most important long term health products available. To be honest, I can't stress enough how important this category of supplementation is. It has been recognized by health experts for many years that our modern diet is greatly deficient in healthy Omega 3 fatty acids, especially EPA/DHA, which are the most beneficial Omega 3's.
They are the single most powerful agent for Heart Health (dramatically reducing the risk of Sudden Cardiac Death), Breast Cancer Risk Reduction, Brain function and health, Eye health, Mental health, and the list goes on and on.
With the development of an emulsified fish oil that tastes like lemon meringue pie, Omega 3-6-9, we can now benefit from the most highly absorbed form of fish oil without any aftertaste, "fish burps" or gas.
And to make an already great product even better, from now until June 15th, when you buy 2 or more bottles of Omega 369 you Save $3, making it $25 a bottle, instead of the usual $28. So Stock-Up, Save Money, and Get Healthy!
Save Your Spouse!
Caring spouses (usually the wife) often ask me for some supplement recommendations for their partner, whom they haven't been able to get into to see me, quite yet. They know their loved one needs some nutrition, and they are smart enough to know that picking things off of a shelf, sold by a high school grad, with God only knows what quality of ingredients, is not the way to go.
So, here is Dr. Dale's Save Your Spouse, critical product recommendations for saving your spouse: By the way, all of these can be taken at breakfast, just once per day to make it easier.
Omega 369: at least 1 Tablespoon and if they are a big person or very athletic person, I would recommend 2 Tablespoons.
Max B ND: It is almost impossible to get enough of all of different fraction of the B vitamin family from our diet each day. This is the highest quality B vitamin I have ever seen, it includes multiple fractions that are very important for Heart protection and brain health to name just two critical systems that need all the help they can get. This is also the most natural of all the B vitamins available and the best absorbed.
Additionally, this product is one most patients feel noticeably better with when they take it regularly, and thus it is the most popular product in the clinic.
Dosage should be at least a half teaspoon, ideally one full teaspoon, per day.
Vitamin D 4000. The majority of Americans are grossly deficient in Vit. D. This critical vitamin is associated with a decreased risk of many diseases when taken at a proper dose. Just one small caplet of this product each day is enough for most patients.
Nano-Greens. This is a very high quality, rich source of broad spectrum anti-oxidants, a family of micro-nutrients that we just don't get enough of on a daily basis. This product is so far the best in class that I have seen, and it is also the best tasting greens product I have ever tasted.
Nano-Greens are best taken on an empty stomach, one scoop in 8 ounces of water, shake, shake and drink. They are not a meal replacement, so they are best taken upon arising in the morning or as a mid morning or mid afternoon snack.
If you provide this combination each morning to your loved one, you have gone a long way to reducing their risk for many of the nastiest, life robbing diseases in America, and you really have shown your love.
If you want further information on any of the above products (sometimes those loved ones need more convincing) please click on the links below.
Goodbye Alice, Hello Dana!
As some of you already know, we are losing the presence and support of Alice. She has been an asset that we all have enjoyed. Alice will be returning to her homeland on the East Coast to return to school.
Luckily, we have found a replacement that you will all get to know and be served by, and that is Dana! Dana is bright, thoughtful and very service oriented, so I am sure you will be well taken care of. Please be sure to introduce yourself to Dana when you come in next time.
Finally Some Medical Sanity on Salt
To be honest, this generally means they've finally come around and see things my way. A new "expert committee, a "prestigious group", commissioned by the Institute of Medicine, via the prodding of the CDC (the Center for Disease Control), says there is no good reason based on health outcomes for many Americans to lower their sodium consumption to the very low levels recommended in the past "dietary guidelines".
Basically, they finally realized that sodium intake, like most intake issues, is a matter of individuals responding differently to this essential mineral. Some people benefit by lowering their salt intake from very high levels to modest levels, but a significant percentage of people who lowered their salt intake to low levels actually had more hospital visits and more deaths. For years I have guided patients to either increase or decrease their salt intake based on their individual needs. One definite problem however is if you're eating fast food all the time, you're getting very high, dangerous levels of salt.
So, if you have any questions regarding guidelines for your salt intake, just drop me a line at [email protected]
Quotes of the Month
"Eating crappy food isn't a reward -- it's a punishment."
"The First wealth is health."
The Ralph Waldo Emerson quote above, really says it all. Fortunately we all get to choose what are priorities are in life, and making our health one of our absolute top priorities, then following up on that priority has a noticeably positive difference in all of those important areas of our life. The better we feel, the more vital we are, the better we perform at our work, as a parent, a partner, a friend, a member of our community.
